Hi Emil,

EPS-Tech’s System integration department is one of the company’s backbones that provides Integration services for the entire range of embedded computing products:  www.eps-tech.com They are a longtime customer of SolidCAM.
One month ago we made the first iMachining benchmark – on an electronic box from Aluminum 6061.

The cutting was done by David Gontar, and it was great. The results were 77% saving in one rough operation, on a LEADWELL machine

They asked us to make another cutting ,on another part, also from Aluminum. This was very important for them, and it was a necessary condition for their decision to buy iMachining.
Yesterday, one month after the first cutting, they called me and asked us to arrive immediately – this is the chance, they said, to convince the owner; This is the "Decision time".

The big challenge in this part was the depth, and the need to work with very long tools.

The max depth was 115 mm, and it included rough and rest rough operations.
We changed 8 standard SolidCAM operations made by the programmer, with iMachining operations, starting with iMachining level 3.

We needed to overcome the potential of vibration in most of the operations, because of the tool’s length – we did it by changing a few parameters, like maximum cutting angle.

After the first part, we decided to increase the major rough cutting in two operations, to iMachining level 6.

The iMachining result was 1:07 hr vs. the 2 hr time when the customer used standard operations (45% saving) – they also understood that we can improve the final result by additional 10-20% saving.

This was enough to convince them, and it took me 5 min to negotiate the price, and finalize the order.

Best regards,
Zvika Friedman
