Developed by SolidCAM, iMachining for NX provides an integrated machining solution for Siemens NX CAM. iMachining is an intelligent high-speed milling technology designed to produce fast and safe CNC programs and machine mechanical parts with first-part success.

Fast – significantly faster than traditional machining at its best. Safe – without the risk of breaking tools or subjecting the machine to excessive wear, all while maximizing tool life. Patented algorithms generate smooth, tangent tool paths that keep the mechanical and thermal load on the tool constant – cutting thin chips at high speeds and deeper than standard cuts (up to 4× diameter).

Seamless integration in Siemens NX

SolidCAM is a Siemens Software and Solution Technology Partner. Using Siemens’ official APIs, iMachining is fully integrated into Siemens NX – familiar to anyone already using NX CAM.

Create iMachining 2D and iMachining 3D operations directly inside NX, with minimal input and the full functionality of NX CAM. Compatible with Siemens NX 12 up to the current Continuous Releases.

Unique iMachining Tool Paths

iMachining generates unique, patented morphing spiral tool paths combined with intelligent island separation and “moating”. Over 80% of the volume is machined by spirals – which have 50–100% higher Material Removal Rate than one-way paths – giving iMachining the highest MRR in the industry. Advanced rest-material tracking eliminates “air cuts” and unnecessary retracts.

The 8-level machining slider lets you adjust the aggressiveness to real-world conditions – from minimum to maximum Material Removal Rate – making it easy to overcome challenges with spindle rigidity, fixture rigidity and tool deflection.
